VAIGAI MAHALIR IYAKKAM

Vaigai Mahalir Iyyakam is a Non-Governmental Organization promoted in the year 1997 to serve for the welfare, development and rights of women, farmers and tribes. It was registered under Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act of 1975. It is a woman based organization and its members derived from various disciplines of development. VMI is having the facility of FCR (A) to obtain Foreign Contribution. VMI is exempted under Income Tax and having the facility of 12AA, 80G and also have reg. TAN Number. VMI filing returns to government promptly and maintain constructive rapport with District Administration. VMI projects were supported by national and international donor organizations to improve the status of women and farmers. Currently VMI facilitating 762 SHGs and all SHGs were linked with banks and other financial institutions. To improve the status of farming communities particularly women farmers VMI implementing UPNRM-Umbrella Program for Natural Resource Management project with the support and guidelines of NABARD-National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
